Blue Ridge Underground
Frequently Asked Questions
What types of events can I host here?
Birthday parties, baby showers, weddings, receptions, retirement parties, anniversary celebrations, fundraisers, corporate events, live music, private screenings, comedy shows, holiday parties, reunions. If it fits in the space, we can make it work.
How many people does the space hold?
Blue Ridge Underground has a maximum capacity of 299 guests. For seated events like dinners or receptions, 130 or fewer guests is the most comfortable setup. Contact us with your guest count and we'll help you figure out the best layout.
Is a bartender required?
Yes. All rentals require at least one bartender at $25/hour. This is for liability and to keep the bar running smoothly.
Can I bring my own caterer?
Absolutely. Use any caterer you want. The kitchen is available for prep and serving. We don't have an exclusive catering arrangement.
What about decorations?
Bring your own. The space has industrial ceilings and a mountain backdrop stage, so it looks good without decorating. You're welcome to add banners, flowers, table settings, or whatever your event needs. We can also connect you with local vendors if you need help.
What's the cleaning fee about?
For weekend evening buyouts, there's an optional $400 cleaning fee. If you'd rather clean up after your event, that's fine too, and you skip the charge.
Is there parking?
Yes. There's a parking lot right next to the building at 560 English Street.
What's the deposit and cancellation policy?
We require a 50% deposit at the time of booking to hold your date. The deposit is fully refundable if you cancel at least 30 days before the event.
Can I host a wedding reception at Blue Ridge Underground?
Yes. The space works well for wedding receptions. You get a stage with a mountain backdrop for toasts and first dances, a full bar, a kitchen for your caterer, and room for up to 299 guests (130 or fewer is ideal for seated dinners). Bring your own decor or use the industrial look as-is.
Is Blue Ridge Underground good for a company holiday party or offsite?
It is. The sound system handles presentations and music, the stage works for speakers or awards, and the bar is right there. Weekday evening rentals are $500 flat, which tends to work well for corporate budgets. Daytime meetings and offsites start at $150/hour.
How far in advance should I book?
As early as you can, especially for weekend evenings and holidays. A few weeks out is usually fine for weekday events. Popular dates like December and wedding season fill up faster.
